Welcome to The Gladstone
910 Gladstone has been a venue for professional theatre in Ottawa since 1982, when it became the home of the Great Canadian Theatre Company. In 2007, when the GCTC moved on to a new facility, local businesspeople, Marilisa Granzotto and Steve Martin acquired the building and began an ambitious renovation. In 2008, the revitalised theatre opened, re-branded as The Gladstone, with the vision to bring accessible, thought-provoking and above all entertaining professional theatre to Ottawa audiences.
In its first three years of operation, Gladstone audiences have enjoyed light-hearted musicals, thought-provoking drama, new works by Ottawa playwrights and a new holiday tradition - festive plays in the style of a 1940s-style radio show.
In 2011, Plosive Productions and SevenThirty Productions joined forces to take on the operation of the theatre. Following a successful four-show Fall season, Black Sheep Theatre also came on board and the three companies will present a second four-show season in early 2012. We hope you will enjoy this "Everything You Could Ask For" season and join us in keeping live theatre thriving in the heart of Little Italy.
