Based on the John Waters cult classic film of the same name, Cry-Baby tells the story of Wade “Cry-Baby” Walker, an orphan from the wrong side of the tracks who falls in love with Allison, the prettiest square in town. With an infectious rockabilly score by Adam Schlesinger and David Javerbaum, and a nifty book by Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan (who also adapted Waters’ film Hairspray for the stage), this rollicking ride through picturesque post-war Baltimore will leave you believing that nothing bad’s even gonna happen again!
