Skate away with Bear & Co. for a spellbinding musical homage to the incomparable Joni Mitchell. The creators of last year’s smash-hit tribute to Leonard Cohen reunite to celebrate the soaring vocals, incisive vision, humour, wit, and bracing singularity of this uncompromising artist, whose painter’s hand is ever-present in her music. Passing around even more instruments than last year, Pierre Brault, Rachel Eugster, Robin Guy, and Scott Richardson—directed by Eleanor Crowder—offer “a rainbow on the wall” of huge hits and hidden gems, from the blue, red, green, and gold of “Both Sides Now” to the crimson crystal beads of “Urge for Going.”
Help us honour the Canadian genius whom Rolling Stone hails as “one of the greatest poets in 20th-century music—a visionary talent of achingly candid lyrics, fleet guitar lines and stirringly elegant vocals.” Gaze up with us at the Prairie sky as Joni Mitchell’s blaze of creative brilliance warms our hearts. And yes, you and your choir will once again be invited to join in (bearandcompanytheatre@gmail.com for details).
All ages warmly welcomed!
